Elm Class - Year 3 2022 - 2023
Mrs O'leary
Hello and welcome to Elm Class - Year 3.
Year 3 is an exciting year at St Anne's and St Joseph's, with the children moving up from Infants and Key Stage 1 and beginning to enjoy the juniors.
I am the class teacher, Mrs O'Leary.
In Maths, we are really keen to consolidate some of those basic skills which underpin so much learning. We will continue to focus on our times tables, place value and gaining a better understanding of number. I am keen to share my love of maths with the children!
As always, reading is very important in Year 3. We will continue to make time in class for all sorts of reading: guided reading, reading for pleasure, shared reading and teacher reading.
Throughout the week in all that we do, we will be focusing on kindness. The children are encouraged to always be kind and always be brave. They should try their best in all that they do, and look after one another. Our classroom is a place of kindness, where the children can have the confidence to try hard and achieve great things! In Elm Class, anything is possible!
In Year 3, the children also have the opportunity to go swimming. Again, they are encouraged to take on the challenge and try their best. Swimming is each Friday afternoon.
My main means of communication with parents will be through the Class Dojo. Please do contact me if you have any questions at all.
