Art and Design

“And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.” (Exodus 31:3-5)

Our Art and Design curriculum is designed to develop knowledge and skills that are progressive, enabling children to strengthen both critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The process of creating art gives children choices and urges them to make their own decisions. Art stimulates both sides of the brain increasing the capacity for memory, attention and concentration.  It introduces our children to new vocabulary and concepts and generates memories and images which enrich their intellect and imagination. Through Art, children will

  • build a progressive skill set enabling them to be persistent and consistent

  • be able to express themselves in different ways

  • become critical thinkers where they are able to evaluate their work, identifying what they have done well and how they could improve further
