Religious Education

At St. Anne’s and St. Joseph’s, Religious Education is at the heart of developing the whole child.  We aim to enable each child to understand and experience the feelings of joy, delight, wonder and mystery in God’s love and forgiveness. We work to develop the children’s ability to respond to religious ideas about the person, message and deeds of Jesus.

Religious Education is an implicit part of the school’s experience and is concerned with promoting the message of the Gospel that Jesus teaches. The beliefs and values communicated through Religious Education help to inspire and unify every aspect of school life. This is what identifies our distinctive Catholic nature and how all areas of the curriculum encompass it.

Religious Education is “the core of the core curriculum,” John Paul II.

SASJ follows the Salford Diocese recommended ‘Come and See RE’ scheme, whose purpose is to provide understanding and knowledge of the Catholic Faith in a variety of ways.
