Operation Encompass

Previously, there have been no procedures for reporting Domestic Abuse incidents to schools which means that some children have been left without the support and nurture that they need when they need it most. Operation Encompass has been created to address this so that by 9.00am on the next school day, the school’s key adult will be informed that the child or young person has been involved, heard or witnessed a domestic incident. This knowledge, given to schools through Operation Encompass, allows the provision of immediate early intervention through silent or overt support dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child. At SASJ, our key adult is the headteacher.

Whistleblowing

We are committed to the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and accountability. We encourage all members of our school community—including staff, parents, and volunteers—to raise any concerns about wrongdoing, unsafe practices, or breaches of policy.

Our Whistleblowing Policy ensures that concerns are taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled confidentially. Individuals who raise concerns in good faith will be protected from any form of detriment.

If you have a concern, you can:

  • Contact the Headteacher: Mrs Sinead Colbeck
  • Speak to the Chair of Governors: Mrs Rebecca Nighingale
  • Refer to our Whistleblowing Policy: Whistleblowing Policy

For serious concerns that cannot be addressed within the school, you may contact the Local Authority or the NSPCC Whistleblowing Helpline at 0800 028 0285.
