Pupil Premium

What is Pupil Premium?

The Government believes that the Pupil Premium Grant, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible (or eligible within the past six years) for free school meals, looked after children (or previously looked after children) and services children and their wealthier peers.

It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium Grant, allocated to school per eligible pupil, is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.

Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium Grant as they see fit.  However, we are held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support pupils from low-income families.

Could your child be eligible for the school to gain from pupil premium funding?

There are a number of factors taken into account when deciding if a child may be eligible for a school to receive this additional funding from the government.  If you think that your family may meet this criteria or your family circumstances may have changed, you can either complete the form below or ring 01254 220747.  All you need is your national insurance number to check.
