At St Anne's and St. Joseph's, we believe that our English curriculum prepares all pupils to lead an enriched, fulfilling life by teaching the skills they need to communicate effectively and confidently with others, through spoken and written language. Our curriculum has been designed with the support of our Literacy Tree Consultant to nurture a love for literature and language, enabling students to engage with a diverse range of texts and contexts. We prioritise critical thinking and creativity, encouraging pupils to express their ideas clearly and persuasively.
Through a comprehensive approach that integrates reading, writing, speaking, and listening, students develop the linguistic and analytical skills necessary for success in all areas of life. We promote an inclusive environment where every learner is valued, fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging collaboration. By instilling a passion for English, we equip our pupils with the tools to thrive in a rapidly changing world, ensuring they are well-prepared for future opportunities.
