Year 5 2024 - 2025
Mr Robinson
Welcome to Year 5!
We are a Year 5 class made up of happy and hard-working pupils who are ready and resiient for the challenges ahead!
Year 5 is a busy year where we grow and flourish together. In our class, we approach our learning with a positive attitude. We understand that mistakes are acceptable, in fact they’re the whole point of coming to school – you have learnt something! During the year, we push ourselves to become more independent in our learning and challenge ourselves to be the best we can be. Alongside Years 4 and 6, we are UKS2 and are therefore role models for the rest of the school. We know that we set an example for our younger friends at St. Anne’s and St. Joseph’s and we take pride in living up to this responsibility.
We start everyday with prayer to ask God to guide us and support us in being kind, compassionate and hard-working members of SASJ.
We continue to worship throughout the day to praise and thank God for food, family and friends and opportunities to show love for one another.
Our mornings are jammed-packed with learning. By the time we stop for lunch we will have:
read, investigated spelling rules, learnt and deployed new understanding of English grammar, written/acted/recorded/debated, played, brushed up on basic maths skills and completed an hour long maths lesson – no wonder we’re always very ready for our dinner!
The afternoons are also a hive of activity. This is when we to widen our knowledge and understanding of RE, science, history, geography, art and design, music, design technology, MFL, PSHE and PE.
On the home learning tab, you will see a variety of links to online resources that we use to support our work at home.
We use Class Dojo and regularly add to our story. We can also be contacted via the Dojo message facility - don't hesitate to get in touch if you have a query, any questions or there’s something important that we need to know.
